๐ณ Tree Removal Services in Fort Collins & Northern Colorado
Dead trees, storm damage, overgrown cottonwoods threatening your roof. We remove it safely, grind the stump, and clean up everything.
Northern Colorado trees are a blessing right up until they’re not. The massive cottonwood that used to give you shade is now leaning toward the house after that last windstorm. The dead pine in the backyard has been waiting to fall for two years. The overgrown elm has roots destroying the foundation and branches scraping the roof every time the wind picks up.
Fort Collins Junk Removal and Demo has been doing tree removal, trimming, and stump grinding across Northern Colorado since 2015. We’re not a specialty tree company โ we’re a multi-service crew that added tree work because our customers kept asking for it, and we were already good at it.
We remove the tree, grind the stump, chip the branches, and haul everything away. One visit, one price, clean yard.

Dead trees, dying trees, storm-damaged trees, trees that are too close to the house โ we remove them safely. We section them down piece by piece when needed to protect structures, fences, and landscaping below.
Tree Trimming & Pruning
Overgrown branches blocking light, scraping the roof, or growing into power lines. We trim back to safe distances and shape trees properly โ not just hack them down to nothing.
Stump Grinding
After a tree comes down, the stump stays in the way until someone deals with it. We grind stumps below grade so you can mow over the spot, plant grass, or use the space again without tripping hazards.
Storm Damage Cleanup
Northern Colorado windstorms knock down branches and whole trees without warning. We do fast-response cleanup โ removing fallen limbs, downed trees, and debris from your yard, roof, and driveway.
Dead Tree Removal
Dead trees are dangerous โ they fall without warning and the wood gets brittle and unpredictable. Don’t wait for a windstorm to make the decision for you. We remove dead trees safely before they become a liability.
Wood & Debris Hauling
Whether we dropped the tree or someone else did, we’ll haul away the wood, branches, and debris. If you want to keep firewood, we’ll cut it to length and stack it. Otherwise, it all goes away.

Tree Removal Questions
It depends on the tree โ size, location, proximity to structures, and how the wood needs to be handled. A small dead tree is priced very differently from a 60-foot cottonwood next to the house. We give free on-site estimates. You’ll know the price before we touch anything.
That’s one of our specialties. We section trees down piece by piece from the top when they’re near structures โ no whole-tree felling that could damage what’s below. It takes longer but it’s the right way to do it.
Yes, and we recommend it. A stump left in the ground will re-sprout from some species and is a mowing hazard from all of them. We grind to below grade so the area can be replanted, sodded, or just mowed flat.
Absolutely. Tell us when we’re doing the estimate and we’ll cut it to length and stack it for you. Otherwise, we haul it all away โ your choice, no extra charge either way.

Tree Removal in Fort Collins โ When It’s Time
Northern Colorado’s trees face unique threats that make removal necessary more often than homeowners expect:
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB): This invasive beetle has been confirmed in Boulder County and is moving north. Fort Collins has tens of thousands of ash trees โ many of which will need removal in coming years as EAB spreads. Early removal of infected ash trees prevents the tree from becoming brittle and dangerous.
Storm damage: Colorado’s severe weather โ heavy wet spring snow, high winds, and hail โ takes a toll on trees. Cracked trunks, hanging limbs, and leaning trees after a storm are immediate safety hazards that need professional removal.
Root damage to foundations: Mature cottonwoods and willows near homes can cause serious foundation damage with their aggressive root systems. If a tree’s roots are cracking your foundation, lifting your sidewalk, or invading your sewer line, removal is the long-term solution.
Dead or dying trees: A dead tree isn’t just ugly โ it’s a liability. Dead branches fall without warning, dead trunks can topple in moderate wind, and standing dead wood attracts wood-boring insects that can spread to healthy trees nearby.

Our Other Services
Tree work is one of our specialties โ and we also handle full junk removal, demolition, estate cleanouts, and property clearing across Northern Colorado:
Do you need to notify the City of Fort Collins before tree removal?
What happens to the wood after tree removal?
We haul away all wood, branches, and debris as part of the standard removal service. If you want to keep the firewood, we can cut the trunk into rounds and stack them on your property. Green waste goes to composting facilities. Larger trunks go to wood recycling operations.
Can you remove a tree close to my house?
Yes โ this is one of the most common scenarios we handle. Trees growing within 10 feet of a structure require careful sectional removal (cutting from the top down in controlled pieces). We use ropes, rigging, and precise cutting techniques to safely lower sections without damaging your roof, siding, or landscaping.
